Mikey, I'm wondering where you got your facts from, about Baratza and Bodum sharing internals.  Not necessarily doubting you, just wondering.

You are a hoot, dude.  We are all after a good bargain on grinders.  I track Mazzers on eBay.  Don't ask me why, I am perfectly content with my Macap. 

The reason I jumped on that Bodum vs Baratza comment is that I grabbed a Bodum at the Goodwill for Ray.  It didn't grind well as the burrs were shot.  When I tried to replace the burrs, I found a dead-end for parts.  I tore it apart and it was clearly an inferior product compared to my daughter's Baratza's that I have had apart.

Hey mp,Some models use Solis parts on the inside (Starbucks EL 60 EL70), I am not familiar with the Bodum gearbox, however I am pretty sure it is a different design than Solis. We only have Baratza parts and a smattering of Solis parts. Happy to help troubleshoot if you run into any issues with the Solis.Pierce
