Garrr! Me vacpot torch leaks!
« on: February 15, 2013, 06:14:01 AM »
I use one of these little Rekrow butane torches to power my tabletop vacpots, similar to this one:

This morning it was out of butane, so I refilled it outside on the deck.  It immediately began leaking from the fill valve.

It looks like I can unscrew the outer ring of the fill valve, but I don't have spare gaskets or such, so I'm not sure it's worth the effort.  Anybody think I can fix this, or is it a lost cause?

I would quite messing around and go right downtown.  You, as well as I, know you are going to end up there.  Get on the bus.

I want one of those so bad. If they didn't seem so fragile I might suggest a traveling road show.

Emboldened by my friends advice (the halogen is mine if I break the device)
I tore apart my leaking torch, ventilated, cold, and out on my porch.

Turns out it's simpler than I suspected, heater beam dreams no longer projected
Stupid thing now works just fine, my upgrade thwarted by a nice design.
