I finally did it! Commercial lever
« on: May 28, 2013, 02:39:48 PM »
I scored a Rancilio Classe 7 single group lever off ebay today. I know it will be a beast, require some wiring and plumbing but I have a feeling it will be worth it.

That will work!

I have the seller shipping it freight on a pallet to avoid damage. Last 3 didn't work out so well.

I will be sure to post pictures soon as I get it in my hands.

On pallet, piece by piece dis-assembly, in the kitchen.

Woah........."beast" is a good description !

I gotta ask: is it in the kitchen?  If so, what other coffee goodies are there?

Oh no, the seller is shipping it UPS after the agreement it was to be shipped freight. I can already see a mangled mess at my garage door.
Pray for my machine!

UPS will treat it with the utmost care..... like they "always" do.

Do you know what's with the pipes and valves sticking up in the back?  The owner's, certainly not part of the machine.  Water, I presume?  but more elaborate than you'd need just to get water to an espresso machine -- I just ran some flexible hose made for an ice machine or something, from the nearest cold water.  I never got around to hooking anything up for the drain  - that would be nice, but likely a maintenance requirement too.

I never took it apart.  It might have needed new piston gaskets - I forget, but I think not.  Since then it has needed new gaskets fairly regularly, I've replaced the springs, pressurestat, etc., but it came to us pretty much in working order.
