Insulated Mug Suggestions
« on: September 29, 2013, 04:44:30 PM »
I may soon be working as a seasonal driver for UPS. Having worked two seasons helping other drivers deliver packages, I know first hand how exhausting it will be. But fun, too. In the event I get the job offer and take it, I'm going to need a seriously fantastic coffee container, at least 16 ounces, that keeps its hot for a long time.

Any suggestions?

I would suggest one of these. The thing I like best about it is that it feels tight. You can It in toss it in your backpack or a bag.

I used to have a nissan and loved it, but lately been having the worst luck with them.   My first eventually died and I have had three replacements afterwords and it's like they sure don't make them like they used to.  Won't keep stuff hot long.  First one used to last all day the follow ons, ehh a few hours.  not good.

Sven: "Oly, what ya got there?"
Oly: "Well, they call it a Thermos. The man at the general store says it keeps hot things hot and cold things cold."
Sven: Oh, that sounds good. What ya got in there now?
Oly: "Some coffee and a popsicle."

I'm leaning toward this one:

I have the 12 ounce version of this. I like it a lot. I do not think it is any nicer than the one I listed above though.

I have an older version of this one:

One of my Goodwill finds a few years ago.  $6 in an unopened box.  It does an amazing job keeping the coffee hot for several hours.

Thermos holds the monopoly in the insulated container market, it seems. I like giving others a chance.

The theory behind these things is great; if such things work well in practice it'd be really good.

In other news, I'd give anything to have PS cups as good as Mickey D's. Those things are the best disposable cups I know of.

The nissan is the best. Vacuum steel construction, simple lid, dishwasher safe. Forget anything with plastic walls. And while the fancy lids are noce, most arent dishwasher ready.

I have one of these...what a killer travel mug.  I love a leakproof 360 sipper.

I just got the Japanese 12pz mug.  I really like it for its small size.  If I put hot coffee in it first thing in the am (7ish), it's still at a good temp at noon.
