Ok can do. My father in law had a nu wave, and I picked up a stir crazy at target. I added a switch for the element on the stir crazy, add a bit of sheet metal to hold the large diameter of the nu wave, and had to cut down the plastic dome of the nu wave to bring the heat close enough. I had first tried the nu wave with the dome full size but it took 25min and never cracked. I then cut the dome down and tried again but still took forever and no crack. Last thing I tried was cutting it down so the element part was about 2" or so away from beans. It still took 18min to roast the beans to dark but I still never heard any crack doing 12oz. The nu wave is a 1500 watt element not halogen. The scto preheated to 331-371f and then I added the beans. The temp of beans went down to 170f and crawled up to about 340f by the end.
Any suggestions? I read peter4jc's page to learn how he does it but I was a little unclear about when to use bottom and/or top heat and what temps to achieve when. I'm willing to get the sunpentown if that will solve the problem but if I can use the nu wave more the better
